Massage Therapy Program

This program is designed to prepare students for a career in Massage Therapy.Students in this program develop the skills necessary to perform professional services in Massage Therapy including sanitation & safety, preparation for massage, manipulations and techniques, draping, effleurage, petrissage, friction and tapotement.

Special populations, professional ethics, legal issues, scientific effects and benefits and therapeutic procedures are also studied in detail. Students will learn modalities and alternative therapies which include Asian modalities, healthcare practice building, reflexology , seated massage, aromatherapy, Oriental Meridians, Pre-Natal Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Shiatsu, Lymphatic Drainage, Chakra Energy System, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, etc. Students receive instruction in Eastern Practices, and gain an overview of complimentary alternative medicine therapies, which provides the beginning of an extended health care network.

Upon completion of the Massage Therapy program, graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Certification Examination offered by the National Certification Board for Massage and Bodywork. Graduates that pass this examination will be eligible for licensure as a Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Florida. Graduates may then be eligible for employment in Spas, Massage Salons, Chiropractic Offices/Clinics, or become self employed as a Licensed Massage Therapist.
